Weather & seasons

When to visit Batumi

Batumi has a humid Black Sea climate with warm, muggy summers, mild-to-cool winters and rainfall throughout the year. July and August are the main beach months. Autumn can remain pleasantly warm, but rainfall becomes more frequent. Travelers should plan for sudden showers even outside the wettest periods.

Best time

May to June and September are excellent for combining sightseeing with comfortable seaside weather and generally lighter crowds. July and August are the main beach season, with warmer sea temperatures, higher humidity and the largest visitor numbers. Batumi is also a viable year-round city break, but rain is possible in every season.
